Part-Time Assistant Teacher – Morning

Our part-time assistant teacher positions can help build your resume and help you to gain experience working with children. Our part-time positions are extremely flexible and can accommodate class schedules and other obligations. Our college staff is welcome to visit home during class breaks and resume shifts once they return. This is also a great part-time opportunity for parents looking for hours while their children are at school.

As a part-time morning assistant teacher, you will work with children in any of our 3 age groups, ranging from 1-5 years. We have Young Toddler, Older Toddler and Preschool classrooms. Your schedule would likely consist of shifts between all 3 classrooms. Brief and friendly communication with parents during drop-off and/or pick-up will happen daily. You will assist the full-time classroom teachers with learning activities, changing diapers, helping children in the bathroom, maintaining a clean and organized classroom and more.

We are closed for the following holidays: New Year’s Day, the Monday following Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Good Friday (the Friday before Easter Sunday) and Black Friday (the Friday following Thanksgiving) are in-service days. Staff are required to attend at least one of the two in-service days, but can choose to attend both if they wish.

Shift times can vary and are flexible based on your availability, but will likely fall within the hours of 8am-3pm. Availability is not required for all 5 work days.

Assistant Teacher Requirements:

• 2,500 hours of documented experience working with children, which can include babysitting, volunteer work, church programs, etc.

Requirements that can be completed as part of onboarding:

• 3 required background checks: FBI fingerprint clearances, Child abuse clearance and State police background check
• Recent health assessment and TB test

Assistant Teacher Responsibilities:

• Must have a love for children and be comfortable communicating with parents in our Child Care Center
• Must be willing to interact and engage all children under your supervision

Assistant Teacher Pay:

• $11-14/hour
