School Age Child Care (SACC) Counselor

The Carlisle Family YMCA is seeking School Age Child Care (SACC) Counselors to work at W.G. Rice Elementary School for the 2023-24 school year.

Please note: While this position is employed through the Carlisle Family YMCA, employees must report to W.G. Rice Elementary School for their shift. This program is NOT held at the YMCA.

HOURS

• 6:30-8:45am and 3:15-5:30pm Monday-Friday (Part-time)
• Availability to work before and/or after school.

SALARY

• Up to $14/hour for those who meet specific requirements.
• Includes a free individual membership for our newly renovated facility – including all fitness classes, rec/lap swimming, 9,000 sq. ft. Wellness Center and much more!

REQUIREMENTS

• 3 employment verifications from three separate references that total 2,500 hours of experience working with children
• State police, child abuse, FBI and NSOR (National Sex Offender Registry) clearances
• High school diploma or GED required
• At least 18 years old

O-Zone Staff

Join our new childcare team in the O-Zone! This is a new feature being offered to members who need care for their kids while they workout. Parents can drop their kids off to hang in O-Zone while they workout/take classes.

HOURS

Wednesdays 5-8pm
Saturdays 9am-12pm

SALARY

• $10/hour and includes a free individual Y membership that includes all fitness classes, rec/lap swimming, 9,000 sq. ft. Wellness Center and much more!

All YMCA Staff Requirements

• At least 17 years old
• Previous experience working with children
• CPR/First aid, AED certification
• Child abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire

Youth Programming

Part time work comprised of Friday night and weekend programming mostly with some opportunities during the week.

Our Friday night crew has the most fun while we host Splash Bash, NERF Games & Movie Night at the Y! We love hanging out and playing with our community of kiddos.

Splash Bash: combines fun and games in the pool and entertainment in the Multipurpose Room.

NERF Games: Participants are separated into teams and “battle” each other with dart guns. A course is created in the multipurpose room using cardboard boxes and other safe materials as obstacles for cover.

Movie Nights: Snacks and movies! All you need. A fun and relaxing night to unwind at the end of the week.

Parties/Rentals: We rent out spaces in the Y building for families/businesses to host parties. Many of these are nerf game or inflatable parties. These typically are 3 hours. Staff will run down rules and create an environment that is welcoming and fun for attendees.

All YMCA Staff Requirements:

Resident & Day Camp Staff (Summer employment)

Youth Adventure Day Camp (YADC)

• Hours- 7:30am-5pm
• YADC is held at the YMCA with field trips on Wednesdays
• Kids ages 5-8 years old

New Frontiers Day Camp

• Hours- 7:30am-5pm
• New Frontiers is held at 700 Stone Church Road, Carlisle, PA 17015. The bus leaves the YMCA at 9:15am and returns at 3:45pm. Field Trip days are Thursday.
• Kids ages 9-12 years old

Camp Thompson Resident Camp

As a resident camp counselor, you will be living at Camp Thompson for the week with your campers. Summer weeks are:

• July 9-14
• July 16-21
• July 23-28
• July 30-August 4

Campers arrive at 4pm on Sunday night and are picked up before 8pm on Fridays.

ALL CAMP STAFF REQUIREMENTS

• At least 17 years old
• Previous experience working with children
• Experience in one or more of the following areas preferred: outdoor living, archery, boating, camping, music, skits, sports, aquatics, recreational games, etc.
• CPR/First aid, AED certification
• Child abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire
