Y News: COMING SOON! Girl Gamer Club & Esports Options

The Pennsylvania State Alliance of YMCAs was awarded a grant from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD)’s Building Opportunity Out of School Time (BOOST) program. The grant enables Ys in Pennsylvania to create new afterschool and summer programming for more than 15,000 at-risk youth in our state. These programs will inspire learning, provide enriching activities and meet kids’ specialized needs.

We’re excited to announce that our Y is one of the recipients of this BOOST grant! Once received, we’ll use the funds to create a Girl Gamer Club that combines STEM education with social connections, as well as other Esports opportunities.

Ys help create a better quality of life and build safer communities by providing activities and places to go for young people. It’s critical that our kids have other safe places outside of school, where they can grow and learn and have a positive experience – no matter what their income level is. We will share more details about both programs once they are available.
