Swim Team

PLEASE NOTE: ALL PRACTICES WILL START AT THE CARLISLE FAMILY YMCA. WE WILL INFORM REGISTERED PARTICIPANTS WHEN PRACTICES WILL MOVE TO THE NEW AQUATIC CENTER.

The Carlisle Family YMCA offers a competitive swimming program for youth ages 5-18 that competes in both YMCA and USA Swimming. The program includes development and training for all levels from the novice swimmer who can complete one length of the pool unassisted to the national elite. No tryouts are held. We encourage sportsmanship, teach a strong work ethic and make the sport enjoyable for swimmers and their families.

The winter team is divided into 4 teams: Green, White, Silver and Gold. We also offer a Summer Long Course USA Team. See below for more details on each team. Some swim meets require additional fees.

PLEASE NOTE: All swim team members must have a Y membership (youth, teen or family) that is effective by the first day of practice through the last day of practice.

Swim Team Parent Meeting

Parents of all swim team members should attend the swim team parent meeting. We’ll go over procedures and expectations and answer any questions you have about the upcoming season.

When: Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at 6pm
Location: Carlisle Family YMCA Board Room

Swim Team Night

Swimmers and parents from all teams – White, Silver, Gold & Green – should plan to attend. We’ll give out team shirts and caps and go through mandatory trainings for both swimmers and parents. We’ll also help with the USA Swimming registration process for new swimmers.

When: Monday, October 20, 2025 from 6-7:30pm

Optional Preseason Training

We offer preseason training for anyone interested in getting in the water before the start of the season.

CARY SHARKS TEAMS

GREEN TEAM

Who: Swimmers who will compete for their high school team and/or swimmers from other clubs that want to compete in USA / YMCA meets & have additional training options
Season: Sept 29, 2025 – Mar 6, 2026
Practices:
- SEPT 29 – NOV 14: Mon-Fri 3:30-5pm
- NOV 17 – MAR 6: Mon/Wed/Fri 5:30-6:30am

Cost: $300^ (four $75 monthly payments* available by request)

WHITE TEAM

Who: Ages 9 & up (younger by invitation only) with at least 1 season of competitive experience
Season: Sept 29, 2025 – Mar 6, 2026
Practices: Mon-Fri 5-6:30pm
Location: Carlisle Family YMCA Aquatic Center – 103 Midway Drive, Carlisle
Cost: $600^ (six $100 monthly payments* available by request)

SILVER TEAM

Who: Ages 9 & up (new to swimming)
Season: Oct 13, 2025 – Feb 27, 2026
Practices: Tues/Wed/Thurs 6-7:30pm
Location: Carlisle Family YMCA Aquatic Center – 103 Midway Drive, Carlisle
Cost: $400^ (five $80 monthly payments* available by request)

GOLD TEAM

Who: Ages 8 & under (can swim length of the pool unassisted)
Season: Nov 3, 2025 – Feb 20, 2026
Practices:
- Mon/Wed/Fri from 5:30-6:30pm at YMCA OR
- Mon/Wed/Fri from 6:30-7:30pm at Aquatic Center
Location: *SELECT YOUR LOCATION DURING REGISTRATION*
Cost: $300^ (four $75 monthly payments* available by request)

SUMMER USA TEAM

Who: Competitive swimmers ages 9 & up
Season: April 6 – July 31, 2026
Practices: Mon/Tues/Thurs (Time TBD)
Expected to attend at least 2 practices per week
Meets: Will participate in 3 long course meets
Location: Carlisle Family YMCA Aquatic Center – 103 Midway Drive, Carlisle
Cost: $300^ (four $75 monthly payments* available by request)

^Includes the mandatory USA Swimming registration fee for returning USA swimmers.

*Monthly payments are a convenience. You cannot pick and choose what months you want to participate. All payments are required.

PLEASE NOTE: New swimmers who do NOT already have a USA Swimming membership, must register and pay their USA Swimming fees directly to USA Swimming for the first season. Contact USA Swimming Coordinator Jeff Bell at jefferyrbell72@gmail.com for more information. Once your USA Swimming registration is processed, you will submit your receipt for reimbursement.

CARY Mission

The mission of the Carlisle Family YMCA swim team is to build a life-long love and appreciation of the sport of swimming. Through the sport of swimming you develop and learn discipline, leadership, responsibility, teamwork, determination and sportsmanship. These characteristics also should transcend the pool. We strive to offer a complete swimming program in which athletes can reach their potential by way of realistic goals and by providing an exciting, fun and educational environment. Our goal is to be a program built upon modern technical swimming and system-based training.
