Swim Team

The Carlisle Family YMCA offers a competitive swimming program for youth ages 5-18 that competes in both YMCA and USA Swimming. The program includes development and training for all levels from the novice swimmer who can complete one length of the pool unassisted to the national elite. No tryouts are held. We encourage sportsmanship, teach a strong work ethic and make the sport enjoyable for swimmers and their families.

The team is divided into 4 teams: Green, White, Silver and Gold. See below for more details on each team.

PLEASE NOTE: All swim team members must have a Y Membership (youth, teen or family) that is effective by the first day of practice through the last day of practice. (The only exception is for high school swimmers.)

Swim Team Parent Meeting

Parents of all swim team members must attend the mandatory swim team parent meeting on Wednesday, September 4 at 6pm in the Board Room. We will go over procedures and expectations and complete all registration paperwork for the upcoming season. USA Swimming Coordinator Michelle Bell will assist with the online registration system for USA Swimming for new families.

GREEN TEAM

Who: Swimmers who will compete for their high school team
Season: October 7, 2024 – March 8, 2024
Practices: M-F from 3:30-5pm
Fees: Members = $150 for the whole season (can swim Y meets) | Non-Members = $200 for the whole season (no Y meets) | USA Swimming = $90 (optional if you want to swim USA meets)

WHITE TEAM

Who: Ages 10 & up (9-year-olds by invitation only) knows all 4 strokes and has competitive experience
Season: Oct 7, 2024 – March 8, 2025
Practices:
- Monday & Friday 5-6:30pm
- Tuesday & Thursday 4-5:30pm
- Wednesday 3:30-5pm
Cost: $500^ (five $100 monthly payments available by request)

SILVER TEAM

Who: Ages 9-11, beginners
Season: October 28, 2024 – March 8, 2025
Practices: Mon/Wed/Fri 5-6:30pm
Cost: $350^ (five $70 monthly payments available upon request)

GOLD TEAM

Who: Ages 8 & under (9-year-olds by request) must be able to swim the length of the pool unassisted
Season: Oct 29, 2024 – March 8, 2025
Practices: Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 5:30-6:30pm
Cost: $300^ (five $60 monthly payments available by request)

^Includes the mandatory USA Swimming registration fee for returning USA swimmers.

PLEASE NOTE: New swimmers who do NOT have a USA Swimming membership, must contact Aquatics Director Tara Young at tyoung@carlislefamilyymca.org BEFORE registering so she can adjust your swim team fee accordingly. New families must register and pay their USA Swimming fees directly to USA Swimming for the first season.

CARY Mission

The mission of the Carlisle Family YMCA swim team is to build a life-long love and appreciation of the sport of swimming. Through the sport of swimming you develop and learn discipline, leadership, responsibility, teamwork, determination and sportsmanship. These characteristics also should transcend the pool. We strive to offer a complete swimming program in which athletes can reach their potential by way of realistic goals and by providing an exciting, fun and educational environment. Our goal is to be a program built upon modern technical swimming and system-based training.
