ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
LTC Moises Figueroa, U.S. Army War College
MILITARY BIO
Lieutenant Colonel Moises Figueroa has had a distinguished career in the United States Army, beginning as a Combat Medic in 1989 and advancing through various leadership roles. Over the years, he has participated in numerous humanitarian missions, commanded multiple units and made significant contributions to operations such as Operation Iraqi Freedom and the Hurricane Maria relief efforts.
Notable achievements include leading engineering projects in Central America, overseeing the deployment and redeployment of 78,000 personnel during Operation Enduring Freedom and modernizing training programs as Commandant of the TASS Training Center.
LTC Figueroa is highly educated, holding a master’s degree and multiple professional certifications, including CPA and CMA. Previously assigned to the Army War College, LTC Figueroa served as Battle Captain for the Joint Logistics Operation Center in the Pentagon. In June, LTC Figueroa will graduate from Army War College. His follow-on assignment will be in Fort Eustis, VA, as the G33 Readiness, Mobilization, and Exercises (RME) Division Chief. His numerous awards underscore his dedication and exemplary service.
These presentations fulfill a requirement of his coursework at the U.S. Army War College.
ENDURANCE SPORTS BIO
Moises Figueroa, currently 54 years old, has an impressive record of endurance events that showcase his dedication to athleticism and perseverance. His achievements span a variety of disciplines, including triathlons, cycling races, and running events.
In 2024, he completed the Armed Forces Cycling Classic in Washington, DC, covering 62 miles in 2:46 with an average speed of 22 mph. Notable triathlon performances include the 2023 Musselman 70.3 in Geneva, NY (5:36), White Lake International Olympic Distance in NC (2:46), and Pinehurst Sprint in NC (1:47). His endurance extends to longer races such as the Clash Endurance Daytona 70.3 in FL (5:25) and the Tour of Tucson 100-mile cycling event in AZ (4:50).
Figueroa also excels in running, with standout finishes at the Army Ten-Miler in Washington, DC (1:15) and Fort Bragg 10-Miler (1:19) in 2022. Earlier accomplishments include completing Maryland’s Full Ironman in 2015 (12:03), Grandma’s Marathon in Minnesota (3:51) and multiple half marathons with sub-8-minute mile paces.
His endurance journey reflects a consistent commitment to challenging himself across diverse athletic disciplines.
